Flying In- we suggest flying into Genova if you can which is 40km from Santa Margherita.

The two airports closest to Santa Margherita Ligure are:

The Pisa airport ( http://www.pisa-airport.com/index.php), and

the Genoa Airport ( http://www.aeroportodigenova.com/home)

Upon arrival at either airport, travelers may rent a car to reach the area, or proceed to the nearest train station (see below for information on train travel to SML). There is a train station right inside the Pisa airport, while in Genoa you must take a cab or the #100 airport bus to Genoa' s Principe train station).


BY CAR: Take the A12 autostrada (motorway) to get to the area. Exit at Rapallo and follow signs for Santa Margherita. The "Via Aurelia" (old national road) is more scenic but may be excruciatingly slow, as it is very winding and passes through many towns and villages. BY TRAIN/BUS: There are frequent trains to Santa Margherita Ligure ( www.trenitalia.com has full schedule and fare information). The area is well served by local buses ( www.tigulliotrasporti.it).

FROM AIRPORT TO HOTEL

A single taxi from Santa Margherita to Genova is around 110-140 euro depending on traffic.
A minivan holding up to 7 people can run close to 220 Euro and your hotel can book it or we
can help you find fellow guests travelling in on your dates..to share rides with.

BY BOAT FROM GENOVA TO SANTA MARGHERITA IS A NICE RELAXING OPTION!

By boat: Travelers heading to Santa Margherita Ligure in the summer can get there via boat from Genoa. Ferry service begins operation in April of each year and goes on through September. www.traghettiportofino.it , www.alimar.ge.it , www.battellierigenova.it .
